PostHeaderIcon How to fix P1 Wiggy “Modem not Detected” Problem

Recently, I am having trouble using P1 Wimax Wiggy after upgrading the firmware from version 1.5.8.55 to 1.6.2.4. I will always get this error, “Modem not Detected” although I plugged in the modem multiple times. Seriously, I don’t know either this only happens to me or anyone else out there.

So, what are you going to do? Not to use it? Fortunately, I tested out with my system for few hours just to troubleshoot this problem.

Before that, please close/exit P1 Connection Manager.

Go to Start > Devices and Printers

Go to Start > Devices and Printers

Look for M-WiMAX Network Adapter Icon in Devices and Printers.

Look for M-WiMAX and click Properties

    Right click and click Properties

    Click Hardware > Properties

    Click Hardware > Properties

    Driver > Uninstall

Under Properties, click Driver > Uninstall

WARNING: Please do not restart your computer or you’re gonna repeat the steps over and over again!

Then click Ok. Your CD-ROM driver for Wiggy is currently disabled. Then you’ll see the icon below after refreshing your “Devices and Printer’s” Window.

    Refres

    Unspecified M-WiMAX Network Adapter

Now Start P1 Wimax Connection Manager. Your Devices and Printer should be able to detect the adapter.

    M-WiMAX Network Adapter Detected

Viola! You’re now connected to P1 Wimax again!

    Connected!

    Connected!

Time to torrent again. HeHeHunter gonna Torrent till the max!!!

        Hi CK,

I waited for months already. I think the technical department won’t even think of using this idea to bypass the Modem not Detected problem.

        Thanks CK.

        Regards,
        Wai Kar

      Jerry

      • HeHeHunter says:

        Hi Jerry,

I’ll try to get my older PC, which is in XP to test it out. I’m sorry because I was supposed to test it with Windows 7. However, about MacOSX, I think I need to look for Prasys for help since he’s the best candidate for MacOSX Department (I just call it as department for fun. I’m not affiliated with P1 yet.).

Blame P1 for not paying me for all these troubleshooting. Joking… :-P

I’ll see what I can do.

        Regards,
        Wai Kar

my problem even worst, i’ve made several complain to customer service that my downloading speed is now only 2++kbps but i’m signed-up/paying for the RM99.00 package for the desktop modem. the customer service people keep telling me is my laptop problem and asked me to do several setting but doesn’t help at all.

    • Kay says:

I subscribed to P1 Wiggy more than a month ago. It was almost perfect the first week, then the problems started:

Modem Not Detected – when they say I should be able to connect immediately why does it take a few minutes for me to get connected ? That’s not so bad, I also face frequent disconnections. P1 Cust Service told me to uninstall restart and install again….slight improvement, but now the problem seems as bad, if not worse. I’m on Windows XP.

      Kindly advise.

      • HeHeHunter says:

        Hi Kay,

I am a little confused. You say modem not detected but then you say you face frequent disconnection?

        Mind to elaborate?

        Regards,

hello WK, i’ve just acquired wiggy recently, and am running XPsp3 on my sys.
ok the problem here is rather boggling, i’m able to connect to the net n such, browsing without problems, but then, when it comes to installing stuff, such as antiviruses and WLM, which require online registration etc, these installers cudnt detect that i’m actually connected online via wiggy. might there be a way around it?
thanks man, hope to hear from u soon

i am using window xp 64, if its not supporting then I can never use this kind of services lor. Actually last time I got Maxis boardband still the same. I got ask the saleperson many time I mention am using xp64bit they said ok. I think they do not understand my point la. Anyway is there anything can be done to help me use the services?

      • HeHeHunter says:

I must say that, not many broadband, especially wireless broadband doesn’t support 64bit architecture. Therefore, it’s totally futile unless they come out a driver for it. OR, you may want to consider Virtualization by installing another 32bit OS.

I tried your method but it did not work. After uninstalling the CD-ROM driver, I start the P1 Connection Manager but it did not detect the modem present. Is there anyway that I can manually installed the driver or something?

      Thanks,

      hi,

i’m using xp sp 3. last time i had ‘modem not detected’

just plug in the wiggy and run the Wiggy installation CD for windows 7, vista, xp (CM version 2.4.30.87). it will upgrade to new version and walla the modem is then detected.

but for windows 7, there is an Attention say to install the cd first before you insert the Wiggy.

      good luck!
